乳腺癌是一種高度惡性的腫瘤類型,可以轉(zhuǎn)移到各種器官,肺轉(zhuǎn)移是乳腺癌患者死亡的重要原因之一。有研究表面轉(zhuǎn)移器官的免疫微環(huán)境在乳腺癌的轉(zhuǎn)移中起著至關(guān)重要的作用。病原體如病毒和細(xì)菌的感染可以改變肺部的免疫狀態(tài)。然而,由細(xì)菌引起的慢性炎癥對在肺中形成抑制轉(zhuǎn)移的作用的影響尚不清楚,并且特異性免疫介質(zhì)對腫瘤轉(zhuǎn)移的影響也在很大程度上沒有確定。最近,四川大學(xué)華西醫(yī)院的研究團隊在期刊《Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy》(IF=39.3)上發(fā)表題為“Chronic pulmonary bacterial infection facilitates breast cancer lung metastasis by recruiting tumor-promoting MHCIIhi neutrophils.”的文章,他們使用了一個小鼠模型,揭示了慢性肺部細(xì)菌感染通過募集一種獨特的腫瘤浸潤性MHCIIhi中性粒細(xì)胞亞型進(jìn)入肺部而增加了乳腺癌肺轉(zhuǎn)移,這種細(xì)胞表現(xiàn)出促癌特性。在功能上,MHCIIhi中性粒細(xì)胞以細(xì)胞固有的方式增強了乳腺癌的肺轉(zhuǎn)移。此外,他們確定來自肺組織的CCL2是募集和維持MHCIIhi中性粒細(xì)胞的重要環(huán)境信號。該研究成果清楚地將細(xì)菌免疫串?dāng)_與乳腺癌肺轉(zhuǎn)移聯(lián)系起來,并將MHCIIhi中性粒細(xì)胞定義為慢性感染和腫瘤轉(zhuǎn)移之間的主要介質(zhì)。揭示了MHCIIhi中性粒細(xì)胞可能是肺轉(zhuǎn)移的潛在治療靶點,為改善晚期癌癥患者的治療提供了新的思路。
